A "jampup" is the name given to the feral island dogs of Jamaica. They where dubbed with this name simply because, well, they are pups, and from Jamaica! . As generations have passed, Jampups have evolved into a breed that is incredibly smart, trainable, loyal and so very sweet and cuddly!
Jampups are rescued from around the islands of Jamaica, usually near resort beaches. Litters of puppies as well as individual pups are often found wandering without their littermates. They are often rescued by tourists while they are on vacation, locals often find them in their backyard or some are even found on construction sites.
Jampups tend to be on the smaller size compared to potcakes and can range between 35lb and 75 lb, but most will end up growing to be about 40-50 lbs.
